A Little History...

Since 1978

In 1978 Lowell started mobile auto repair with tools out of the back of his car until finding a good brick and mortar space in Minneapolis. In 2002 moved to the current Columbia Heights location where we continued to build a loyal neighborhood customer base. Fast forward 40+ years later Lowell retired and his lead mechanic Lane Schiele took over and has continued to service the local community and beyond. Continuing the commitment to client satisfaction where the customer comes first. From our experienced mechanics to our reliable solutions, Lowell’s Auto Repair is a name you can trust.

Over the years, we’ve earned countless awards, and while we take pride in our accolades, we’re more concerned with tending to auto repair needs. It’s for this reason why our mechanics take a client-driven approach. When you place your trust in our diligent mechanics, you can rest assured that customer service will be upheld.

Staff Profiles

Lane

Lane is the Owner, Service Writer and Technician. He will greet you with a friendly hello when you enter the lobby and help you with your auto service needs. With over 20 years in the industry and 15 years as the lead technician at Lowell’s Auto Repair, he was well prepared for taking over the operation in October 2021. Lane learned his craft at Hennepin Technical College and years of experience. In his free time he likes to spend it with his wife, 2 kids, 2 cats and a dog. They enjoy running the kids around to various sporting events and camping during the summer.

John

John started learning his expertise at Century college in White Bear Lake Minnesota. Prior to coming to work at Lowell’s Auto Repair, John spent over 20 years working and sharpening his skills at his prior employer. In addition to spending many nights and weekends building his own vehicles. John enjoys four-wheeling, rock crawling, and camping during his free time. Raising 3 boys does limit the amount of free time but makes the most of it! John joined us October of 2021 after his longtime friend Lane took over the business

Steve

Steve has worked for Lowell’s Auto Repair starting at age 12. When you are 12 and need your bike fixed, you can sweep up the shop as payment for the service. From there, he has spent the next 35 years learning all about cars and how to repair them. He has gained a vast amount of experience in staying with Lowell’s Auto Repair his entire adult life. Steve enjoys going to his land to camp and hunt. He also enjoys traveling to Las Vegas to get out of the cold.

Brian

Brian also started his auto repair training at Century College in White Bear Lake Minnesota. He grew up working on cars with his dad. You could say grease and oil are in his blood. He enjoys being outside exploring the ATV and adventure trails with his friends and family. You can find him working many hours on his own projects as well. Brian is a great member of our team.
